GetLocale is a small, but useful tool to query language settings and console codepage for localized batch files. Baiscally the program works like nlsinfo from the Windows Resource Kit, but has more options, finer control over ourtput and it sets the errorlevel, so it's easy to use it in shell scripts. Best of all, GetLocale of course if freeware. Have fun downloading and using it!
