Purpose of jpglist (new version 1.2.7!)
Ever wanted to find all these images from that marvelous party down south at Key West? Just needed the filenames and the size to see if you can get it on ca CD and store them? Do you need to find out all pictures made with a certain camera model that have been shot using a flash? All you have to use is jpglist!
The program is a command-line based tool to search JPG images for meta data. Meta data means addititional information beside the picture itself that is stored in the .jpg file. Neraly all digital cameras and image processing software store and/or retrieve this additional information. Using jpglistyou can easily search for images matching the criteria you specify on the command line using a query language. There is no need to use an image database or try to collect all these image captions, comments and EXIF or IPTC data in a database (that will never be up to date, btw). Just execute a query using jpglist and you will get a customizable result on the standard output of the shell. This makes jpglist the ideal tool to create batch files, rename scripts or reports.
Software requirements
The program runs on Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003. There is no installation, just copy the executable anywhere you like it. The program does not write to the registry and does not need any runtime installed. Uninstall is easy - just delete the executable and your done. All image files will be opened in read-only (share deny-none) mode only, no file will be modified.
